Salam Aidilfitri

4 more days to Hari Raya.

Kalau ada sumur di ladang
boleh kita menumpang mandi,
kalau tidak ada sumur,
mandi aja di kamar mandi.
Kalau ada khilaf yang ku perbuat,
baik di sengaja ataupun tidak,
mohon dimaapin yaa..

Perhaps this is a lil bit early, but since I don’t know if I will be able to blog again di saat-saat akhir, so I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Muslim friends and readers – Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zahir & Batin, ....to the non Muslims, ....selamat bercuti.

Faith makes all things possible.
Hope makes all things work.
Love makes all things beautiful.
May you have all of the three.
Salam Aidilfitri & hope you will have a great and safe holiday!

2. Beat in eggs, add vanilla
3. Combine flour & nestum
4. Add the dry ingredients to the eggs mixture
5. Add in raisins
6. Bake about 20 minutes or until golden brown

Two good friends?

Last Friday Aleeya took part in her school story telling event. It is a yearly event organized by the school to promote public speaking for children aged 5 and 6 years old.

Aleeya’s story was about two good friends, Ben and Sam. It is one of her favorites.

This is how the story goes:

One day, Ben and Sam went fishing. On the way home, they had to walk a forest.
“O dear” said Sam. “There are bears in this forest”
“Don’t worry, I will take care of you” said Ben.

Suddenly, a big bear came out of the forest. The boys were afraid. They ran away. The bear chased the boys.

Ben could run very fast, he quickly climbed up a tree. Sam could not run fast. He could not climb up the tree. So he lay down and pretended to be dead. The bear went up to Sam, he looked at Sam. Sam kept very quiet. He stayed very still. The bear sniffed at his ear and his hair. “This boy must be dead” said the bear. “I don’t like to eat dead people”. So the bear walked slowly away.

When the bear was gone, Ben came down from the tree. “What did the bear say to you?” he asked Sam.

The bear said you were not my friend, Sam said angrily – you did not take care of me!

..something for all of us to ponder ….

Salam

Salam.
The holy month of Ramadhan is here again. How are you?

Apart from the work load in the office, I have been and still busy membawa client bersungkai. So I have been having hotel food for sungkai for the last few days - in a row. Kesian my husband terpaksa menyediakan makanan untuk anak-anak bersungkai di rumah. I am thankful indeed that my husband and kids understand my tanggungjawab sosial. Health wise, I am good. I hope you are well too.

This year is Abyana’s first experience of fasting. The first two days was a bit of a challenge for her but I am glad that now she does not have problem with it. She has been fasting full day for the last 7 days and is determined to continue fasting.

You go girl, I am so proud of you.

How time flies. Today is already the 10th day of Ramadhan. We will be celebrating Hari Raya in 20 days! To my Muslim friends, ...."sudah mula membuat biskut kah?"

Enjoy your Ramadhan.

What happened to the baby?

What happened to the baby,
that I carried deep inside?
She's now become a little girl,
so curious and wide eyed.

What happened to the tiny one,
that relied on me alone?
I see you striving everyday,
so eager to be grown.

Your eyes sparkle true,
show more wisdom everyday.
The little legs that clung to me,
are now running away.

Slow down my little angel,
there's so much more for you to know!
Slow down, my sweet baby girl,
for you're just 13 months old!
